Wind energy, many people are ardently jumping on the bandwagon and constructing their own wind turbines for their home. But is it truly worth it? Can they seriously save a lot of money? The answer is yes, they can and the same is true for you.

Now I don’t wish to give the impression that this form of energy is the do all and end all to your electricity needs. While it is a fantastic way for the average home owner to cut their electric bill by up to 80%, you do have to keep a few points in mind.

First of all, you will likely need more than one turbine to generate enough electricity for your home. Of course that will depend on the size of the turbine you have, and your electricity needs. But generally speaking, a homeowner will need several small turbines to generate enough electricity so they can kiss their utility company goodbye.

An additional factor is where you live. Everywhere gets wind but some places, say Chicago, get more. If you live in a location where you don’t get a lot of wind, maybe you have a lot of trees, or you live in a valley, you won’t get as much out of your turbine.

However, since a wind turbine can be built for a few hundred dollars and since a lot of homeowners see a considerable savings from just one turbine, it may still be worth your while to invest in this environmentally friendly, completely renewable, free wind energy source.

It can be a excellent family project to build your very own wind turbine. The kids will learn to be grateful for the environment as they grow up.

For any person who is worried about the environment, as well as their own financial health, utilizing wind energy can be a very cost efficient way to help the earth and themselves.

Many people think that they can't use wind power for their home because they don't live on a farm or have a lot of land. The good news is that this is not true. Wind turbines come in several shapes and sizes. You can even put them on your roof.

Many people think that they can’t use wind power for their home because they don’t live on a farm or have a lot of land. The good news is that this is not true. Wind turbines come in several shapes and sizes. You can even put them on your roof.

So now that you know you don’t have to miss out on a chance to save money on your electric bill by building your own wind turbine, what’s next?

Now it’s important that you know a little about wind turbines and what you can expect and what you can’t expect.

A simplified explanation of how a turbine works is that it takes the energy of the wind, converts it to electricity, and stores the electricity to use at a later time.

A small turbine will clearly make less electricity than a large one. In order to produce enough electricity for an average home using a small yard sized, or roof sized, turbine you would need more than one. You would most likely need three or four.

A lot of people wouldn’t want that many turbines on their roof or in their yard, your neighbors probably wouldn’t love the idea either! But the good news is that while one small turbine won’t make all the electricity you require it will produce enough to save you a significant amount of money on your energy bill.

Many people save upwards of 80%. Since the turbine is economical to build and with the savings you’ll get it is still worth your while to build your own turbine even if it won’t produce enough electricity to completely free you from your electric company.

Save cash and save the earth, all by using wind power. It’s not hard to do and it can give you a real sense of satisfaction, not to mention a bigger wallet!

You’ve probably heard a lot recently about saving money on your electric bills by using wind energy and building your own wind powered generators. Have you ever wondered if it really is that easy? Well, the good news is that, yes, it is.

Using the wind energy to run equipment has been about a long time. Think of the old windmills from hundreds of years ago? Luckily for us technology has improved to the point where we can not only produce electricity from wind we can also store it for later use.

You don’t actually have to understand how it all works in order to benefit from it. Most of us don’t have a clue how our computer works, however we nevertheless use it. The fundamentals are that the wind is captured by the wind turbine and than stored for use at a later time.

Wind turbines come in several different shape and sizes. Clearly the bigger the turbine the more electricity you will be able to generate.

There are many sources available today that can easily, and cheaply, show you how to build your own wind turbine, step by step. Many can even be built for less than a few hundred dollars.

If you have a lot of property, and time, you may perhaps build your own little wind farm and possibly generate enough electricity to power your own home without having to buy any electricity from your utility company.

For a lot of people however, one or two small turbines to produce a little extra power is all they’re actually looking for and this can be done without difficulty.

So if you are interested in saving a little money, helping the earth, and even have some bragging rights, you can use wind energy today by building your own wind powered generators. It is quick, inexpensive, and straightforward to make your own wind turbine for use in your home. Begin today and you can be saving by tomorrow.

I am not making light of the recession when I say that perhaps something good will come of it. I know a lot of families are under pressure just to keep their head above water, and I feel awful for them. But the reality is that we are all learning new ways, like using wind power, to save cash.

After the economy turns around, and it will sooner or later, we can all be doing great if we keep on using the money saving habits we began using when things were troublesome.

If you want to lower your utility bills at this time, and in the future, building your own wind turbine can help. It’s a straightforward project you can easily do in a weekend.

A wind turbine is just a more high tech adaptation of a wind mill except for now we can convert the energy from the wind into electricity and store it to use at a later time.

Turbines come in different sizes and shapes, you aren’t just stuck with a huge windmill in your backyard. As a matter of fact, many of them can be mounted directly to your roof. Two of my neighbors have recently added them.

You can easily build your own turbine and it won’t cost you more than a few hundred dollars. The parts, and instructions, are readily available online or off. You do not require any special skills or knowledge either.

One small turbine most likely won’t generate all the energy your household needs on a daily basis, but it can cut your electric bill drastically. A lot homeowners have seen a savings of over 75%.

Using wind power to save money on your electric bill is an easy, inexpensive thing you can do starting immediately. Make it your weekend project, build your own wind turbine and start saving on your energy bills today.

Are you interested in making your house more energy efficient and green? With rising energy costs and sky high utility statements, most of us are looking for ways to cut costs and save some cash. You can begin right at house, by making a few simple changes to make your residence electricity efficient and more eco friendly.

But beyond energy efficiency, there are numerous other vital factors that go into the model of a green house. For instance, water conservation, indoor air quality, and the use of safer constructing materials will all add to a more eco-friendly residence. This applies to new construction, as well as renovating and greening an older home for improvement and sale. Here’s a list of some of the factors to think about when remodeling your house, or buying a green house.

Proper Ventilation – The home ought to have the right number and placement of exhaust fans, proper ventilation, vapor barriers, and duct sealing. A well designed thermal envelope can make the residence more comfortable and energy efficient. Ventilation systems should be wrapped and sealed to prevent air loss.

Air Quality – To make the residence healthier, safe building materials ought to be used to limit introduction of harmful and dangerous vapors. For example, use zero-VOC or no-VOC (volatile organic compounds) paint, and put in recycled, reclaimed, or sustainable flooring made from materials that don’t have formaldehyde, such as bamboo or cork. Consider installing physical termite barriers in its place of chemical treatments, where appropriate.

Water Efficiency – Consider installing dual-flush toilets, low- flow wash heads, and a tankless water heater, or at a minimum; a more electricity efficient Energy Star rated model.

Insulation – One of the top options a consumer may make is to install added insulation. Use formaldehyde-free insulation. Moreover, install a radiant barrier on the underside of the roof, where suitable.

Roofing – Consider metal or cement tile roofing, or durable shingles rated for 40 years or more.

Appliances and Furnaces – Use Energy Star rated appliances. The HVAC (air conditioning) systems ought to have a 17 SEER rating or better, and furnaces ought to have a 90+ rating. The heating and cooling unit size and assignment ought to be properly thought out to add to efficiency.

Lighting – Install energy efficient fixtures. Compact fluorescent light bulbs should be utilized in place of halogen or incandescent bulbs.

Windows and Doors – Install double-paned, Low-E windows. Properly shade windows that face the sun, or install window overhangs. Install storm doors where suitable.

Thermostat Timers – Install a programmable thermostat and hot water furnace timer.

Exterior – Consider installing low upkeep materials that make sense for your climate and region, such as fiber cement siding, 40-year shingles, and engineered wood framing.

Landscaping – Eco landscaping considers cautious selection of plants, and focuses on water conservation. Use green landscape design practices, such as reducing the dimension of the lawn. Consider the correct position of trees to help shade the house and decrease cooling costs. Use hardscape materials to reduce weeds and eliminate the use of pesticides and herbicides. Use inhabitant plants and xeriscape techniques to stay away from the need for excessive care and watering. Compost. Install drip irrigation systems and think about reclaiming water.

You will see that from top to bottom, you will look at your whole home indoors and out to look for potential improvements to make it more eco friendly. It’s not too hard to make your existing residence a green home. By making at least a few simple changes to improve energy efficiency, in no time you will see the optimistic results in your utility statements. Plus, you have the extra benefit of knowing that you are doing more for the natural environment at the same time, and that always feels good.

Are you interested in making your house more energy efficient and green? With rising energy costs and sky high utility bills, most of us are looking for ways to cut costs and save some money. You can begin right at house, by making a few easy changes to make your home energy efficient and more eco friendly.

But beyond electricity efficiency, there are numerous other important factors that go into the model of a green residence. For example, water management, indoor air quality, and the use of safer building materials will all add to a more eco-friendly home. This applies to new building, as well as renovating and greening an older home for improvement and sale. Here’s a listing of some of the factors to think about when remodeling your house, or purchasing a green house.

Correct Ventilation – The residence ought to have the right number and placement of exhaust fans, proper ventilation, vapor barriers, and duct sealing. A well designed thermal envelope can make the house more comfortable and electricity efficient. Ventilation systems ought to be wrapped and sealed to prevent air loss.

Air Quality – To make the house healthier, safe constructing materials ought to be used to limit introduction of harmful and harmful vapors. For example, use zero-VOC or no-VOC (volatile organic compounds) paint, and put in recycled, reclaimed, or sustainable flooring made from materials that don’t have formaldehyde, such as bamboo or cork. Think about installing physical termite barriers instead of chemical treatments, where suitable.

Water Efficiency – Consider installing dual-flush toilets, low- flow wash heads, and a tankless water heater, or at a minimum; a more energy efficient Energy Star rated model.

Insulation – One of the best alternatives a consumer can make is to install added insulation. Use formaldehyde-free insulation. Additionally, install a radiant barrier on the underside of the roof, where suitable.

Roofing – Think about metal or cement tile roofing, or durable shingles rated for 40 years or more.

Appliances and Furnaces – Use Energy Star rated appliances. The HVAC (air conditioning) systems should have a 17 SEER rating or better, and furnaces should have a 90+ rating. The heating and cooling unit range and placement ought to be correctly thought out to add to efficiency.

Lighting – Install energy efficient fixtures. Compact fluorescent light bulbs should be utilized in place of halogen or incandescent bulbs.

Windows and Doors – Install double-paned, Low-E windows. Properly shade windows that face the sun, or install window overhangs. Install storm doors where appropriate.

Thermostat Timers – Install a programmable thermostat and hot water heater timer.

Exterior – Think about installing low upkeep materials that make sense for your climate and region, such as fiber cement siding, 40-year shingles, and engineered wood framing.

Landscaping – Eco landscaping considers careful selection of plants, and focuses on water management. Use green landscape design practices, such as reducing the dimension of the lawn. Think about the correct position of trees to help shade the house and reduce cooling costs. Utilize hardscape materials to reduce weeds and eliminate the use of pesticides and herbicides. Use local plants and xeriscape techniques to avoid the need for too much care and watering. Compost. Install drip irrigation systems and think about reclaiming water.

You can see that from top to bottom, you may look at your entire house indoors and out to look for possible improvements to make it more eco friendly. It’s not too hard to make your existing house a green residence. By making at least a few simple changes to enhance electricity efficiency, in no time you will see the optimistic results in your utility statements. Plus, you have the extra benefit of knowing that you are doing more for the environment at the same time, and that always feels good.
