Fossil fuels have long been crucial to American society. We use fossil fuels to heat our homes, run our cars, and create our electricity. America’s appetite for fossil fuels is increasing dramatically. Consequences of our fossil fuel habit is depleting our resources and killing the planet.

But why green energy sources? Well because there are advantages to using them which we will never be able to get if we dont change our ways. This is also even if some will argue that the problem with green energy is that it is sometimes difficult to generate the power we need. While that may be true, that is why there are other green energy sources available and we just to know which ones are viable given the geographic location.

Solar, wind, wave, hydropower, and geothermal are just some of the various potential sources of green energy. Utilizing green energy sources do not harm the environment or give off harmful by-products. The results from these energy sources are completely different than fossil fuels.

Coal you have to remember releases carbon dioxide into the air. On its own, it may not cause that much damage but there are currently 50,000 coal plants around the world and that number is expected to grow.

Many say nuclear power is a reliable solution. No one disputes that nuclear power does produce a large amount of energy. The dispute is whether or not we are effectively and safely disposing of the spent nuclear rods. We also have to consider nuclear accidents such as Chernobyl and Three Mile Island. These incidents were many years ago. We have gotten better at containment; however, it only takes one accident.

Every fuel source requires maintenance, including green energy. All energy production sources have maintenance costs. Ethanol production still requires corn to be refined at a refinery. Windmills are mechanical machines. They have parts that must be maintained. Even with these maintenance costs, green energy is still more attractive than fossil fuels.

Green sources have one advantage that fossil fuels cannot compete with. Green energy is renewable. We will NEVER run out of green energy. Sun’s rays have hit the earth for millions of years. These rays have produced wind for millions of years. Utilizing green energy sources reduces America’s dependence on fossil fuels.

Governments are only talking about replacing fossil fuels. They hold global climate change summits. They pass resolutions. They even tell us that we need to drive less and reduce our energy usage. Without viable alternatives, it is difficult to do. It is time that we realize we have viable alternatives. We have green energy.

Awareness does not always mean change. Daily we are told that global climate change is here. People are told what they should do. Yet, not even the government is building wind mills or erecting solar panels. Who will lead by example?

When will we realize that we have the solution to environmental, political, and social problems. Green energy will produce a system of renewable energy that fossil fuels cannot. It is time that we commit rather than just talk. We have the power to produce home made energy. YOU have the power to produce home made energy. What are you waiting for? Our world needs you.

One has to wonder if renewable energy technology is the wave of the future. With the high cost of fossil fuel energy and the threat of environmental disaster at hand something needs to be done. Hows the price on your latest power bill?

Or what about the crazy weather going down?

Enough to spin your head – SO i’ve decided to setup a blog that looks and asks for solutions.

So far, wind power solutions and solar energy seem to be the cleanest and most affordable and sustainable….for now.

But I do want to hear of other alternatives to open my mind at least – because change has to go down in a big way before a new earth can be activated…once again!

I don’t know about you, but right now I see this subject of an urgent nature – we need to act now.

At least i have found a reasonable solution for most homes to get your power off the grid – with solar and wind power solutions that can be very affordable to setup.
